RASAYANA represents the most specialised and therapeutically rich programme in the Kanasu seasonal calendar. The programme draws directly on the classical Rasayana branch of Ayurvedic medicine, integrating the most nourishing, strengthening, and revitalising practices available.
Njavarakizhi (also called Navarakkizhi) - the application of boluses filled with Navara rice cooked in herbal decoction and cow's milk - is the cornerstone practice of RASAYANA. Traditionally, this therapy is considered among the most deeply nourishing available in the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia, used to support muscle strength, skin quality, and overall vitality. Sessions are long and deeply relaxing.
Pizhichil - the continuous pouring of warm herbal oils over the body with simultaneous massage using 1.5 to 2 litres of oil - is the second cornerstone practice, traditionally associated with the musculoskeletal system and deep tissue nourishment.
Rasayana internal protocols include constitution-specific herbal preparations aligned with the classical Rasayana herbs. Nutrition during the programme follows a deeply nourishing, Ojas-building satvik meal plan featuring traditional preparations, warming spices, and seasonal produce.
Yoga and movement during RASAYANA emphasise strength, flexibility, and conscious embodiment - practices that support the building of Bala (physical strength) and Ojas alongside the therapeutic sessions.
