KANASU SAMSODHANA
Panchakarma Immersion
The monsoon season holds a unique place in Ayurvedic tradition. As the rains arrive and the earth softens, the body's pores open, the skin becomes more permeable, and the tissues reach a heightened state of receptivity. For thousands of years, Ayurvedic practitioners have regarded Varsha Ritu - the monsoon - as the ideal season for Panchakarma: the classical system of deep cleansing and renewal. Kanasu SAMSODHANA is built around this principle.
Retreat Overview
SAMSODHANA follows the three classical phases of Panchakarma under strict medical supervision by Kanasu's senior doctors:
PURVAKARMA (Preparatory Phase, Days 1–5 approximately): Internal oleation (Snehapana) with medicated ghee or herbal oils to mobilise deep-seated Ama toward the digestive tract. Abhyangam and Swedana (herbal steam) to prepare the body. Doctor reviews daily.
PRADHANAKARMA (Core Phase, Days 6–16 approximately): The primary Panchakarma procedures as determined by your Prakriti-Vikriti assessment. For most guests, this includes Basti (medicated enema cycles - considered the 'king of Panchakarma' in classical texts), Virechana (purgation, where appropriate), and supporting practices. Procedures are tailored individually.
PASCHATKARMA (Post-Procedure Recovery, Days 17–21): Gradual reintroduction of foods, Rasayana (rejuvenation) practices, and stabilisation of the body's new state. Detailed take-home guidance is prepared during this phase.
Throughout all three phases, guests follow a strict satvik diet prescribed by the doctors, attend daily yoga (gentle during core phase), and participate in wellness education sessions. The monsoon environment - the sound of rain, the green of the forest, the cooler air - creates a container that many guests describe as uniquely supportive.
