Udaya Shankar is an eminent earth and environmental scientist with nearly four decades of academic, research, and administrative excellence at Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal University. His pioneering work spans climate change studies, groundwater exploration, environmental impact assessment, river system dynamics, and sustainable water resource management.
Dr. H. N. Udaya Shankar is a distinguished geologist and academician with over four decades of experience in teaching and research. He has published extensively on topics related to environmental geology, mineralogy, and sustainable development. Dr. Shankar has been instrumental in promoting geological education in India and has served on various national and international committees focused on earth sciences and environmental conservation.
Widely published in reputed national and international journals, he is a Fellow of the Geological Society of India and the Mineralogical Society of India, and recipient of the M. S. Sadasivaiah Gold Medal for topping his M.Sc. in Geology. His passion extends beyond research into medicinal plants and sustainable agriculture, reflecting a holistic vision of environmental stewardship.
