Dhanyamla Dhara
About This Therapy
Dhanyamla Dhara is a traditional Kerala Ayurvedic treatment in which a specially prepared warm fermented medicated liquid known as dhanyamla is poured over the body in a continuous, gentle stream using tailed brass vessels. The liquid is prepared using cereals, lemon, and other herbs fermented over a period of time to develop its sharp, heating therapeutic potency. It is particularly effective for conditions involving pain, stiffness, and excess water retention.

How It Works
The dhanyamla preparation is gently warmed and poured over the body from specialised brass vessels in a rhythmic stream, while the therapist simultaneously performs a light massage. The fermented liquid's sharp and hot qualities penetrate the tissues, stimulating circulation, breaking up fluid retention, and mobilising toxins. Sessions are typically conducted over several consecutive days for chronic conditions.
