Sirodhara (Thalia Dhara)
About This Therapy
Sirodhara is perhaps the most iconic and recognisable of all Ayurvedic therapies a profoundly meditative and deeply healing experience in which a continuous, steady stream of warm medicated oil flows rhythmically onto the centre of the forehead (the "third eye" region). Originating in the Kerala tradition, Sirodhara has extraordinary effects on the nervous system and neuro-endocrine physiology, making it one of the most sought-after treatments for stress, anxiety, and neurological conditions worldwide.

How It Works
Following a full-body oil massage, you lie comfortably on a wooden therapy table. A specially crafted vessel (dhara pot) is suspended above your forehead, from which warm medicated oil flows in an unbroken stream at a precise height and rhythm onto the forehead. The oil is continuously recirculated and maintained at the correct temperature throughout the session. The oscillating stream creates a vibrational effect on the frontal cortex, inducing a state of profound stillness and therapeutic relaxation.
