Kanasu Wellness

About This Therapy

Swedana is a traditional Ayurvedic sweating therapy designed to generate controlled therapeutic warmth and promote relaxation of the body's muscles and tissues. It is commonly performed after oil-based therapies such as Abhyangam, allowing the warmth to complement the effects of the preceding treatment. At Kanasu, Swedana is personalised according to your constitution, health condition, and therapeutic goals, with the intensity and duration adjusted under practitioner supervision. The therapy is traditionally used to support circulation, ease stiffness, relax tense muscles, and promote a feeling of lightness and comfort.

How It Works

Following an appropriate Ayurvedic treatment or preparation, the guest is exposed to controlled therapeutic heat using a suitable Swedana method. Depending on the treatment plan, steam or herbal vapour may be directed to the body while the head is kept comfortably outside the primary heat zone. The temperature and duration are carefully monitored by the practitioner according to individual tolerance and therapeutic requirements. The session encourages gentle sweating while helping the muscles and tissues relax. After the treatment, the guest is allowed to rest and rehydrate as advised.
