TENS Unit
About This Therapy
TENS - Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation is a widely used, drug-free pain management therapy that delivers mild, controlled electrical impulses through the skin to interrupt pain signals and stimulate the body's own natural pain-relieving mechanisms. At Kanasu, the TENS Unit is employed as a powerful, non-invasive tool for acute and chronic pain management offering immediate relief while supporting the longer-term healing work of Ayurvedic and physical therapies. It is backed by decades of clinical research and recommended by physiotherapists and pain specialists worldwide.

How It Works
Small, self-adhesive electrode pads are placed on the skin over or near the area of pain, or along the nerve pathways associated with the pain. The TENS device delivers a gentle, adjustable electrical current at specific frequencies and intensities entirely controlled by the therapist to suit your comfort and condition. You will feel a mild tingling or buzzing sensation, which most clients find pleasant and immediately soothing. Sessions typically last 20–45 minutes. Two primary modes are used high-frequency TENS, which acts on the gate control mechanism to block pain signals; and low-frequency TENS, which stimulates endorphin release for longer-lasting pain relief. Treatment may be combined with other Kanasu therapies for a comprehensive pain management protocol.
